Ira S. Meisels, MD, is a Senior Attending Physician, Nephrology at St Lukes Roosevelt Hospital Center. Board certified in both Nephrology and Internal Medicine, Dr. Meisels is the Medical Director of Dialysis at St. Luke's Roosevelt Hospital Center and Beth Israel's Upper Manhattan Dialysis Center, a large outpatient dialysis unit with more than 190 patients. He maintains a busy office practice which sees patients with all stages of chronic kidney disease. He received his medical degree from Yale School of Medicine in 1990 and trained in Internal Medicine and Nephrology at Harvard Medical School/Beth Israel Hospital, Boston. Meisels’ areas of expertise include dialysis, chronic kidney disease, hypertension, and acid base and electrolyte disorders. He is an active Clinical Researcher and has authored multiple papers and abstracts in the field of Nephrology and is an active speaker on kidney disease. Meisels is the Chair of the Medical Advisory Board of the National Kidney Foundation of Greater NY and a Council Member of the End stage Renal Disease Network of NY.
