Division of Minimally Invasive Surgery
Division of Minimally Invasive Surgery
The Division is a relatively young section of the Dept. of Surgery and it was developed by bringing together the bariatric surgery program with the recruitment of new fellowship-trained attendings.
Today the Division consists of five MIS trained surgeons and it is able to offer expertise in a vast array of Minimally Invasive Surgical techniques. It is quickly establishing itself as a leader in the city as well as in the region.
The Division has become a leader nationally in the development of new trends in minimally invasive surgery and has pioneered techniques that have gained wide acceptance such as stenting in the treatment of anastomotic leaks and single port technology in general and bariatric surgery.
