Hyperhidrosis - excessive sweating

Individuals with hyperhidrosis experience extreme sweating of the hands, underarms, face or feet. Commonly an inherited condition, hyperhidrosis can be so debilitating that it affects a person's job performance and social well being.

Endoscopic thoracic sympathectomy (ETS) is a minimally invasive procedure and the preferred method of treating individuals who have severely sweaty palms or who perspire excessively in other areas in combination with palmar sweating. Our surgeons are skilled in this procedure. They have demonstrated outstanding results with a minimum of complications. Compensatory sweating in other parts of the body can occur, so consultation by an experienced team familiar with other treatment options is of paramount importance.

Botulinum toxin injections block the chemical transmitter that causes sweating.

This treatment can help some patients, especially those with excessive underarm sweating. The toxin's effective duration is limited, and repeat treatments are the norm.
