Division of Plastic Surgery

The Division of Plastic Surgery is an extraordinarily active service providing comprehensive care throughout all Continuum sites. Our surgeons specialize in both elective cosmetic surgery as well as complex reconstructive procedures. We have an especially close working relationship with our world class Breast Surgery Service, providing the most sophisticated techniques in breast reconstruction. In addition to providing state-of-the-art clinical care, our surgeons are involved in numerous academic endeavors, such as clinical research projects, lecturing, didactic conferences, and the of training plastic surgery fellows from the Montefiore Medical Center – Albert Einstein College of Medicine.

The program is headed by Mark R. Sultan, MD who serves as Chief of the Combined Division of Plastic Surgery at St. Luke's – Roosevelt Hospital and Beth Israel Medical Center . Dr. Sultan is assisted by William Samson, MD, Associate Chief of Plastic Surgery at St. Luke's – Roosevelt Hospital and Mark L. Smith, MD, Associate Chief of Plastic Surgery at Beth Israel Medical Center . Our team also includes specially trained physician assistants, nurses, and patient care coordinators.
