We have provided handouts from the American College of Surgeons regarding some of the more common surgeries performed by general surgeons:

• Hernia Repair
• Cholecystecomy or Gall Bladder Removal
• Appendectomy or removal of the appendix .

Intersting point: McBurney, the famous surgeon who described the anatomy of the inflamed appendix was a surgeon on staff at the Roosevelt Hospital!
