After extensive experience in nursing and specializing in critical care, Peggy joined the St. Luke’s Hospital Cardiac Surgery Team in 1998. Her duties include coordination of all aspects of patients’ clinical care. These include admission, pre-op education, preparing patients for the operating room, post-operative monitoring and teaching, discharge coordination and planning, post discharge visits and care. Peggy is fully versatile in all aspects of critical care, including all critical care procedures. Additionally, Peggy is involved with all the clinical research of the section.
Peggy’s personal interests are education of patients and other staff. As part of this, she has developed the Going Home after Heart Surgery pamphlet to provide the families and patients with information to enhance their recovery time. Currently, she is developing St Luke’s Hospital Annual Health & Wellness Fair to take place on the first Saturday in October.
