BREAST CARE CLINIC

Every Wednesday morning, the staff of The Comprehensive Breast Center provide diagnostic and treatment services at St. Luke's Hospital's Breast Care Clinic on the Upper West Side at West 114th Street and Amsterdam Avenue. In addition to a careful review of each patient's medical history and available mammograms, the attending breast surgeon performs a comprehensive breast examination and when necessary, breast ultrasound, fine needle aspiration and core biopsy. A handheld ultrasound device allows image-guided fine needle aspiration or core biopsy for the evaluation of suspicious lumps or calcifications. Surgery, when required, is performed at Roosevelt Hospital. We are very proud of the standard of care provided in the Breast Care Clinic. Patients receive as high-quality and excellent breast care as one might expect in The Comprehensive Breast Center's private office suites on West 59th Street. Both facilities are staffed by the same dedicated team of nurses, physician assistants and breast surgeons. However, one advantage of the Breast Care Clinic is the support provided by a Spanish-speaking volunteer, a cancer survivor who provides translation, counseling and reassurance.

FREE MAMMOGRAM SCREENING CLINIC

A New York State funded program provides free mammogram screening for women who meet the eligibility criteria. The Free Mammogram Screening Clinic is located at St. Luke's Hospital at 114th Street and Amsterdam Avenue. Mammography is available by appointment every Thursday morning.
